The plan for the 7.3-acre site near Hope Mills Lake includes nature trails, kayak and canoe slips, an outdoor classroom, interpretative signs, an events lawn and other facilities. Construction could start in mid-2021. The board heard a presentation on the plan from Dave Toms of McAdams Group, which is studying the town's recreation needs. It was part of a wide-ranging meeting that included discussion on a new public safety facility, an increase in the motor vehicle tax, a town museum, handicapped accessibility and other issues...
